With football season finally here, more and more of us are gathering with our friends and neighbors to "kick off" the season together. Looking for an easy appetizer, or maybe even a way to kick up your bread for Italian meals? Try this garlicky cheese bread. It is a crowd pleaser!

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded Italian cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 1 cup pasta sauce

Slice bread in half, then cut in half again (as if you were making a sandwich). Melt the butter in a small ramekin with 1 clove, minced garlic. (Melt in the microwave for about 35 to 40 seconds). Remove the butter from the microwave and grate the other clove of garlic into the butter. Using a pastry brush, brush the melted butter onto your bread. Add pasta sauce, then top with grated cheese. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into smaller slices to serve as appetizers and enjoy!
