• ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¾ water (approximately; I forgot to measure the water, but it was just under 1 cup)
  • 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup (needed for storage if you are lucky enough for leftovers!)
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

**If you would like a maple syrup, you can add maple flavoring.  I did not.  You could also add just a small pat of butter (maybe 1 teaspoon) to make it a butter flavored syrup.

In a small saucepan, stir together sugars, water and honey.  Bring to a boil until it has thickened (it will not thicken that much; after you remove it from heat, it will thicken more); about 8 to 10 minutes.  Remove from heat and add vanilla.  Allow syrup to cool in order to thicken.
