• 1 head broccoli
  • juice of half an orange
  • zest of an orange to taste

Steam broccoli in a steamer with the orange juice added to water, just until tender.  Zest orange over broccoli and serve.


  • 3 or 4 ears of corn, shucked 
  • sugar to taste (just a pinch is needed)
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

Heat a cast iron skillet on medium high heat.  Cut the corn off the cob in a small bowl.  Pour in skillet and add sugar, butter, salt and pepper.  Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring to combine.  You can add a touch of milk or sour cream at the end; stirring to combine, if you would like.
