Freezer Bag Protein Drinks

If I can do a little planning ahead, my life is always easier. Yours too, I’m sure.

Even though breakfast is my favorite food, I never wake up hungry. I have to force myself to eat something, so my workouts aren’t depleted. I make my protein drinks a week in advance, then toss them in the freezer. The mornings are so much easier for me, because I just grab one, dump the contents into the blender and ta-dah! Breakfast “on the go.”

For mine, here is what I like to do:

I bought some silicone ice trays, and I add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup Greek yogurt to each. (Depending how much you want). I freeze these solid, then pop them into freezer bags. To those bags, I add either spinach or kale (just grab a handful), and whatever fruit you love. I also add about 1/4 cup of rolled oats to my bags. Oats are an excellent source of fiber and a great way to feel fuller, longer.

I cut up bananas, mangoes, pineapple, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries … literally every fruit I can grab, I use. You can also buy frozen bags of fruit to save time. I’ll add mint and fresh ginger to some, and to others I’ll stick with fruit. The Greek yogurt I use is non-fat, plain and lends 16 grams of protein in just 3/4 cup serving.

I add oatmilk or almond milk for my liquid, but use whatever you love, and enjoy!
